HazMat Certification gives both Employers and Truck Drivers a competitive edge. Hazmat Certified employers are able to offer more high demand services. Certified drivers become more desirable to local employers, which can lead to a higher paying job.
Commercial Driver School’s Hazmat Course only requires 16 hours of training. Our course consists of general awareness, familiarization and the fundamentals of the hazardous materials transportation process. Our course fulfills all of the requirements established by Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).
Utilizing the OHSA Hazards Communication Standards (HCS), this course will enable truck drivers to recognize hazardous materials as well as provide them with the basic knowledge of how to perform as a driver carrying hazardous materials.
Our 16-hour course is divided into two 8-hour classes. During the first day of class, our instructor will go through different examples of products that are considered hazmat as well as hazmat classifications.
During the second day, we have a “hands on training method” that enables our students to put into practice everything they learned during the first day of class.
